Quintessence

The Quintessence ensemble is made up of musicians employed on a daily basis by three of the Warsaw’s leading orchestras: Warsaw Philharmonic, Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera and the Polish Royal Opera. All the artists have honed their skills and gained experience by studying at music universities in Poland and abroad. They have also participated in many international masterclasses. They perform both as soloists and chamber musicians and have won numerous prizes at national and international music competitions. In July 2023, the Quintessence wind quintet was awarded Third Prize at the 3rd International Polish Music Competition in Rzeszów. The ensemble was also awarded the prize for the best performance of a piece by Antoni Szałowski. Quintessence also performed during the concert accompanying the Coryphaeus of Polish Music Award gala in 2024, held at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall. In March 2024, the ensemble participated in the International Conference on Woodwind Instruments at the Academy of Music in Poznań. In addition, members of the ensemble held masterclasses with students of the music academy. In December 2024, the quintet gave a concert at the Polish Institute in Bratislava with a programme that included works by Polish composers.
